Cycling Race Coverage
Sports production company
In production at a national multi-stage race with 437 riders across 7 categories
A production company covering a national road cycling race needed much more than graphics: a complete on-air operation system. We built a desktop control application that manages the graphics engine automatically, consumes live GPS telemetry (speed, gradient, altitude, kilometers to go), and fires graphics with real-time race data — including estimated power in watts computed with a physics model. An embedded data server on the local network lets a second operator manage the start list, positions, and per-category timers from any tablet, while the main operator focuses on the broadcast.
What We Delivered
- ▸Live GPS telemetry on air: speed, gradient, altitude, and km to go
- ▸Real-time estimated power (watts) via physics model
- ▸~19 graphic templates: lower thirds, rider IDs, top-10 standings, splits, weather, and score bug
- ▸Peloton graphic that adapts automatically to group size
- ▸Auto-updating score bug with KM to go, time gaps, and live timer
- ▸Local-network data server with admin panel for a second operator
- ▸CSV start list import (437 riders, 7 categories) and independent per-category timers
